Summit Success Stories - Week of March 11

Educators Rising competition

Congratulations to eight Teacher Educator Academy students for qualifying for the national Educator Rising Conference competition. The following students competed in different categories and qualified to compete in Washington D.C. in June:

  • Karli Van Aalsburg (LSW): 1st place for Creative Lecture 
  • Naomi Tanaka (LSW) - Placed 1st in Children's Literature K-3 and qualified for nationals.
  • Hailey Pickman (LSN) - Placed 3rd in Children's Literature Pre-K and 3rd in Lesson Plan and Delivery: Arts and qualified for nationals in both categories. 
  • Tyler Farr (LSW) - Placed 4th in Job Interview and qualified for nationals. 
  • Lexi Anway (LSN) and Jaden Carey (LSN) - Placed 5th in Children's Literature K-3 and qualified for nationals. 
  • Emma Hall (LSW) - Placed 5th in Exploring Non-Core Teaching and qualified for nationals. 
  • Audrey Baldwin (LSW) - Placed 7th in Job Interview and qualified for nationals. 

AFJROTC Spring Events

Congratulations to the Lee's Summit West AFJROTC cadets who excelled recently at competitions. Recently, at Carl Junction High School's Athletic Challenge, cadets secured first place in the Co-Ed Division and the Male Division and the entire group was named overall champion.
