Dr. Bonnesen is the director/principal of Summit Technology Academy (STA) at The Missouri Innovation Campus. Dr. Bonnesen has over 24 years of experience in education. He has received numerous awards and recognitions within the educational and civic arenas, including Lee’s Summit Community Reflections of Character Award Recipient, Kansas City Connector Recognition by the Kauffman Foundation, and a Lee’s Summit School District Excellence in Teaching Recipient. He holds a doctorate and specialist’s degree in educational leadership from Saint Louis University. In addition, he also has earned a master’s degree in school counseling and a bachelor’s degree in English education from the University of Central Missouri.

Carrie Hardin is the assistant principal of Summit Technology Academy. Mrs. Hardin brings a myriad of enterprise and educational experiences with her. She has worked as a sales manager for a US company and a professional development trainer for an international company. Her educational experience includes a library media specialist in the Pleasant Hill School District as well as multiple teaching positions in the Lee’s Summit School District. She is replacing Dr. Jeremy Bonnesen, who will serve as Summit Technology Academy’s director/principal for the 2018-2019 school year.
