Open House Nights

STA Open House Nights will allow you to see all that STA has to offer in one night!
Come check out what STA has to offer! All STA capstone course classrooms will be open for students, parents, and the community to learn about the incredible advanced career-focused learning opportunities that exist for juniors and seniors in high school within STA at The Missouri Innovation Campus. Explore all STA courses here and see them in person. STA instructors and STA students will be in their classrooms to showcase courses as well as answer your questions. This is the best opportunity to see all that STA has to offer in one night!
Below are the options on how to spend your time at STA:
- Classroom engagement – all visitors should travel to one or multiple classrooms to learn more about programs of interest, get questions answered, and to learn about how to apply. Engage with student ambassadors and instructors. See yourself at STA!
- Overview – this optional session in the conference center is for community members, parents, and those needing to learn the fundamentals of STA. For younger students, this session will also talk about long-term planning so you will be most ready to attend STA your Junior/Senior year.
STA has open house nights scheduled for the 2025-26 School year. Each Open House is 6:00 - 8:00 PM.

STA Overview Sessions:

STA Overview Presentations – in Room B101 (Event Center)

This session will be presented at the beginning and repeated at the end of the Open House Night. It provides an opportunity for students, parents, and community members to learn what STA is for those who are new to the idea of STA. No RSVP is needed for this session. This session answers the following questions:
- Why should I come to STA?
- How does it work to come to STA?
- How do I prepare for STA?
- How do I learn more about what STA has to offer?
MIC Accelerated Bachelor Degree Program Information Sessions:

Missouri Innovation Campus (MIC) Presentation - in Room B101 A/C
Students who take one of the University of Central Missouri (UCM) MIC early bachelor degrees aligned courses at Summit Technology Academy their junior year AND have a 3.0 unweighted GPA/95% attendance may also choose to participate in a university partnership program with UCM called Missouri Innovation Campus (MIC), in which students begin to earn a bachelor’s degree while still in high school. The bachelor’s degree is offered through the University of Central Missouri- Lee’s Summit. This program helps to significantly reduce the overall cost of a bachelor’s degree. If selected by one of our over 70 MIC Program Business Partners, students will have the opportunity to participate in a three year, year-round, paid internship, further reducing the cost of their college degree.

The Accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing (ABSN) program designed in collaboration with Summit Technology Academy and Metropolitan Community College (MCC) offers an exciting opportunity to fast-track your nursing career. This innovative program empowers students to meet nursing program prerequisites while earning an Associate of Arts (AA) Degree, and ultimately securing a coveted spot in one of five esteemed nursing programs in the Kansas City area.

The Summit2Success Accelerated Degree Program fast-tracks motivated students to a Master degree just three years after high school. Through STA and MCC, students complete an A.A. Degree with coursework meticulously aligned to UMKC's Bloch School. This allows for a seamless, cost-effective transfer into either the BBA or BSA track, securing automatic admission and placing students years ahead in their professional business career.

Serving one weekend a month and two weeks in the summer, you can earn benefits to help pay for your education and expenses. Direct Degree Pathways are designed for families who want clear options, fewer surprises, and a thoughtful start to college planning. Through STA and UCM early college options, students can earn transferable college credits while still in high school at a fraction of the cost. These options enable students to explore multiple academic directions without committing too early to a single major (or college) or to be more intentional in course selection in specific degree pathways. The program offers straightforward admission, guided advising, scholarship opportunities, and early access to college resources. Helping students and parents make informed decisions about time to degree, cost, and next steps, with support built in from the start.

A+ Maximize Your Benefits for College Info Session - in Room B101 A/C
"A+ Maximize Your Benefits for College Info Session," is designed for STA students to leverage their STA experience and maximize their A+ Scholarship at Metropolitan Community College – Longview Campus. The A+ Scholarship offers significant tuition coverage, including full tuition coverage for students from in-district high schools and a majority of tuition coverage for students from out-of-district high schools.
You'll learn how MCC-Longview's resources, support services, and transfer options can pave your path to success. We'll explore how your valuable STA Capstone coursework can seamlessly connect to relevant MCC-Longview programs, saving you money while pursuing your educational and career goals. A Q&A session will provide an opportunity to ask questions and receive personalized guidance from MCC-Longview representatives and financial aid advisors. This presentation aims to empower you to make informed decisions about your future and utilize the A+ Scholarship to achieve your educational and career goals.

Experience the Academy
Since moving into this premier facility in November, our juniors and seniors have been learning alongside professional pilots and industry experts. During the Open House, you can:
- Tour Hangar 2: Explore the innovative classroom and lab space designed specifically for aerospace education.
- See Industry Equipment: Get an up-close look at the professional-grade technology our students use daily, including advanced flight simulators and industry-standard drones.
- See the Impact: Engage with current student ambassadors and instructors to hear firsthand how the program prepares students for high-demand careers.
How to Spend Your Time
To get the most out of your visit, we recommend the following:
- Classroom Engagement: Visit the learning stations to see the equipment in action, ask questions about the aerospace tracks, and learn about the application process.
- Program Overview: Attend an optional briefing in the hangar’s meeting area. This session is perfect for parents and younger students (middle school and early high school) to learn about long-term planning and how to qualify for the Academy during your junior or senior year.

The Accelerated Aviation Bachelor's Degree Path fast-tracks motivated students to an aviation career using STA, the LSR7 Early College Program at MCC, and UCM Aviation. By strategically front-loading UCM's Bachelor of Science in Aviation requirements in high school, students ensure a seamless, cost-effective transfer to UCM, allowing them to complete their degree and begin their professional career years ahead of schedule.
